What have you been up to lately?

I quit my job, co-founded a company, moved from Shanghai to San Diego, and started graduate coursework in International Management and Chinese studies.

What motivated you to start your own business?

Falling in love with Coley early on in our relationship was the clincher. I knew I had to be with him, in some form or another. Becoming his “partner” made the most sense. The fool took the bait, and here we are.

Why a clothing anti-brand?

Because quality clothes don't have to cost the better part of a hard earned paycheck. The main difference between DressMonkey and its closest competitors is simply our involvement in the manufacturing process and our willingness to share it with our customers.

Your first blazer experience?

Not sure, probably at some Easter Sunday brunch in the late 1980’s.

Your first sexual encounter in a blazer?

Easy. 5th grade at Cotillion. I wore a double-breasted navy blue with fat gold buttons. While doing the fox trot, I caught a girl with one hand too far up my left breast pocket, which I took as a sign that she wanted more than just a dance. So, we waltzed outside and kissed.

Wardrobe Essential?

Confidence.

Your favorite off-the-rack purchase?

1st grade. A California Heet sweatshirt that said “Too Cool For School”. Thanks Mom.

Ralph Lauren or Armani?

That’s a tough one, they both have tight asses…oh, you meant their clothing?

Any Asian fetish you’d like to speak of?

Is George Bush a good president? My point is, some might say so.
